Craftsperson - Comprehensive / 4657

Position Description:

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Craftsperson (Comprehensive) for the Excel Maintenance department to work BWN (5:30PM to 4:00AM). This individual will repair and maintain complex mechanical equipment, including automated filling and packing machines, finishing and overwrap machines, case formers, etc. Additionally, they will provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting equipment when unscheduled downtime occurs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Able to apply methods of diagnostics probable cause.

2. Document symptom, problem, root cause and solution.

3. Perform mechanical adjustments and repairs to filling and packing machines, overwrap machines and case formers.

4. Research and specify new equipment, sensors, and parts to improve the process.

5. Plan and implement projects to improve equipment productivity.

6. Design and fabricate mechanical parts.

7. Troubleshoot electric circuits and electronic components.

8. Write and modify procedures and specifications.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

1. AA degree or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school or equivalent education/experience.

2. The candidate for this position must have a strong background in machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

3. Knowledge and experience working with machine control systems including PLCs, servo controls, and Variable Speed Drives.

4. The applicant should have an understanding of cGMPs with experience in a pharmaceutical environment.

5. Proficient in using personal computers and a working knowledge of software such as MS Excel and Word.

6. The ability to analyze, investigate and help to solve technical issues involving the equipment.

7. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

8. A flexible schedule to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
