Responsibilities

Networkfleet is currently seeking a Lead Java Application Developer to support continued development of its flagship telematics application. The person in this position will lead the the design and development of object-oriented solutions using the Java programming language for both high volume JMS applications and JSF-based frameworks. Dedication to ongoing evolution of the underlying technologies and enthusiasm for clean code are key attributes of the successful candidate. This position will be involved in both developing new features and maintaining current systems as a member of a strong team.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to design and develop clean object-oriented solutions to new business problems.


• Lead others on a project team, working in an Agile environment.


• Ensure system scales to meet growth of the business while exceeding backend performance targets.


• Supporting the operation of a high volume JMS application.


• Ability to visualize complex systems, and find ways to simplify them.


• Promote code quality through ongoing refactoring, and strong unit and integration test practices.


• Mentor other team members in new technologies and patterns.


• Interact with vendors when interfacing with new products and designs.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and communication skills are needed, as well as an ability to multitask, collaborate, and work well within a team environment.


• Skilled in Agile software development methodologies, preferably Scrum


• Experience with the Java programming language.


• Experience with high volume messaging apps.


• Familiarity with usage and tuning of Data Grids, preferably Oracle Coherence.


• Experience with JAX-RS and the Jersey framework is a plus.


• Experience using a JSF-based framework is preferred.


• Experience with Javascript, to support a rich web client.


• Competency using and managing Spring Framework for DB integration


• Detail-oriented, creative, dependable and trustworthy, with positive attitude.

Education:

Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent.
