HMI Engineer - Vehicle HMI, GUI, Human Factors, Automotive
We are a well-known, public, and global company that is expanding our engineering to the Detroit area! We currently have about 50 employees in our Detroit area office and we are looking to hire a few more! If you are a talented HMI Engineer with automotive industry experience, and love thinking outside the box, coming up with new ideas, brainstorming, and using your creativity to find solutions, then please read on and apply!
This is a long term contract position (12+ months).
What you need to apply:
* B.S. degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomic Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering or similar
* Experience designing and creating graphical/audio human interfaces
* Programming in any of the following languages: C/C++, C# or Java
* Automotive industry experience
* Strong analytical skills
Pluses include:
* M.S. degrees or higher
* Research experience in the areas of psychology, human factors, ergonomics etc.
* Programming for interfacing between devices
* Experience with Qt, OpenGL, DirectX, Direct 3D, OpenCV or Altia
* Familiar with camera image processing
What you will be doing:
* Create new HMI for driver assistant systems and conduct in-lab and in-vehicle test
* Participate in brainstorming meetings to generate new application ideas
* Research new technologies related to vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication systems
* Collaborate with vendors and internal departments for building new prototype applications
