Senior Program Manager (Advanced Services)


Role overview:


Program Managers manage customer facing projects or multiple projects or takes a business management role in an account or group of accounts. The size of the projects will depend on the seniority of the PM.


Job description:


- Manages Small/Medium customer facing projects or multiple projects or takes a business management role in an account or group of accounts.

- Creation of a project schedule and plan with financial, resource and material requirements.

- Develops and presents proposals and final agreements.

- Manages the project from start to completion including the resolution of escalated project issues under the guidance of a Senior PM.

- Presents service business value to customers for new or existing business.

- Influences the customer in the assessment, planning and management of related network projects.

- May manage internal projects/programs within Cisco.

- May Program Manage ongoing optimization service to deployed customer networks.

- Works with the Program Management Community to further develop the PM role, processes and operations.


Key deliverables include weekly and monthly status reports detailing accomplishments, issues and tasks in progress, Project Control Processes, Procedures, Change Control, Risk Management (risk tracking, mitigation and issue tracking)

The candidate will have significant influence and will ultimately be responsible for the quality of requirement deliverables.

Project Manager should have good experience with Managing scope, time, cost, quality, people, risk and communications for a project.


Skills Requirements:


- Project/Program Management experience in the deployment of leading edge technologies in a highly complex commercial environment.

- Has a professional project management training credentials (PMI).

- Has basic knowledge of routing, routing protocols, switching, internet and general network architecture.

- Has demonstrated clear leadership skills and experience working with large project teams and strategic account teams.

- Has a good knowledge of the sales process including risk assessment and scoping.

- Has demonstrated a good understanding of the legal issues with contracts.

- Has demonstrated advanced negotiation and presentation skills. Has good understanding of project management tools like MS-Project etc.

- Good understanding of Quality concepts, methodologies and tools, ITSM/ITIL processes.

- Knowledge on Industry standard Certifications like ISO 9000.

- Understands the organization, aims and processes.

- Fluent English mandatory. In addition, proficiency in at least one Major EU language (Written and Verbal) is a strong plus (Incl. German, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, …)

- Work experience with European customers being onsite in Europe a definite plus.


Education background:


- Typically requires BA/BS degree or equivalent with 8+ years related experience with demonstrated related experience in networking/telecommunications industry OR demonstrated experience in managing LAN and/or WAN network implementation and support PLUS experience in a Clearly defined Project Management role.

- Requires professional PM certification, ESi, PMP, ITIL or equivalent.

- Cisco certifications like CCNA, CCNP are plus

- Up to 20% travel may be required
