QA Manager - Region

Requirements:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a biologic science with 4-5 years of clinical laboratory experience.

  • Prior experience in Quality required with knowledge of FDA regulations for blood and tissues donors, preferred

  • Prior experience managing an audit program is strongly desired.

  • Must possess excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

We currently have an opening for a Regional Quality Assurance Manager.


Basic Functions:


1) To assure the overall quality of services rendered to laboratory clients within the regional in terms of reliability, accuracy and precision


2) To act in a proactive manner in the identification and rapid resolution of problem issues which adversely affect LabCorp quality


3) To provide leadership within the region for LabCorp quality programs including the implementation of policies and systems which lead to continuous quality improvement


4) To promote a culture of quality throughout the LabCorp laboratory system through communication and increase awareness.


Scope of Supervision:This position receives minimum amount of direct supervision.


Principal Functional Responsibilities:


1) Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of standardized protocols and best practices throughout the assigned region


2) Assuring laboratories within the region maintain current federal, state and local licensure and accreditation, as applicable


3) Implementing policies with respect to aspects of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations, CAP accreditation, FDA compliance, and/or specific state regulations, as applicable for laboratories within the region, providing organizational tools, e.g., forms, guidelines, consultation assistance, and etc. when indicated


4) Assuring all staff within the region have proper credentials for the work they perform


5) Assuring laboratories within the region remain inspection-ready by inspecting processes and practices at each location


6) Assisting in preparation of summary response for proficiency testing failure and/or adverse outcome of any agency inspection, audit or complaints


7) Overseeing quality monitoring metrics for the assigned region, including root cause analysis and reviewing of corrective action and preventive measures


8) Providing continuing education programs for staff development in the areas of quality control, quality assurance, CLIA regulations and LabCorp policies


9) Monitoring progress of implementation and subsequent use of MasterControl document management system


10) Maintaining knowledge of federal state and local requirements of certifying and accrediting agencies by reviewing regulations publications and other resources necessary to remain current


11) Maintaining and coordinating communications between laboratories in the region, providing assistance where indicated on quality assurance related issues


12) Monitoring and responding to other quality assurance issues as assigned or developed in the course of the other duties as described above
