Senior Planner - Higher Education Facilities

Description

^Responsibilities include preparation and management of professional planning services that guide the physical development of Higher Education campuses as well as strategic development/ improvements of buildings and space to support each campus mission of research, teaching, health care, and public service.


The campus planner also prepares and maintains the Long Range Development Plan for Higher Education campus sites, prepares facility master plans, develops land use plans, site and facility evaluations. Prepare Initial Project Proposals as well as Final Project Proposals as per California Department of Finance requirements.

Additionally, assesses campus space needs, as well as requirements and annually-updates the campus Capital Improvement Plan that draws upon state, non-state, and campus discretionary resources to fund capital projects.


This position is based in Los Angeles and will leverage the higher education resources of the Los Angeles offices of Leo A Daly, as well as other offices within the firm. The individual will also work directly with the Managing Principal and Market Sector Leader for Education in the Los Angeles Office.


Qualifications


Bach. of Architecture/ Planning required.

Fifteen (15) plus years minimum professional experience in Higher Education with a minimum of Ten years (10) experience in public educational facilities planning.

Licensed in the state of California (and other states).

Must be familiar with Capital Outlay planning process.

Superior communications skills.

Knowledge of Onuma and Fusion software preferred.

Must be willing to travel within CA.
