Sr Cslt-Contract Mgmt



Responsibilities


  • Provide consistent day-to-day management of video franchise relationships with municipal and state regulators and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements in video franchise agreements, and take responsibility and ownership for all facets of video franchise requirements, including creating and managing databases of information for quick access to all data points related to each local regulator and related community information with whom Verizon has a video franchise agreement.

  • Build and maintain local relationships through in-person interaction and attendance at video franchise-related meetings (cable advisory board meetings, local public). Gather and maintain knowledge of all local and regional events in each assigned video franchise through regular monitoring of the local press and other information available through media outlets.

  • Leverage all available opportunities to build new and strengthen existing relationships with local regulators; manage video franchise relationships to ensure that Verizon is recognized in a positive light in relation to the video franchise and provision of video services. Proactively manage, take ownership and resolve of local regulator requests, questions and video franchise-related inquiries.

  • Maintain an internal presence and be identified as the single point of contact for management and resolution of video franchise related issues. Occupy assigned work office each day and interact on a regular basis with all internal stakeholders, including but not limited to individuals and teams from finance, national and local engineering, local and national construction, external affairs, state regulatory, marketing organization, local and regional operations, video compliance organization, as well as legal subject matter experts.

  • Work with internal stakeholder teams to ensure video franchise obligations are timely and fully satisfied-- insurance payments, bond payments, quarterly and/or annual reports, notices of channel changes, PEG channel deployment and on-going care, build commitments, free service drops and other requirements specific to each individual municipality. Timely provide information and documentation of franchise compliance to Video Compliance teams for updating of compliance databases.

  • Timely provide information and documentation responsive to local and state regulator requests and inquiries.

  • Timely provide status updates on a weekly basis and identify items to escalate for specific direction as needed.

  • Adhere to Verizon policies related to travel and payment of expenses. Utilize internal systems for management and tracking of internal and external expenses and costs. Satisfy all internal Verizon requirements for ongoing training and performance management.

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate and work well with external and internal stakeholders, and ability to follow through and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate decision making ability and autonomy while fully briefing and engaging subject matter experts and following internal chains of authority.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of specific state Video Franchise Regulations and Statutes as applicable.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.


Qualifications



  • Legal education or training preferred.

  • Contract management experience.

  • Internal and external relationship management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.

  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Positive attitude and good judgment.
