At Atlanta Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in the heart of downtown Atlanta, we look for extraordinary Surgical Technologists. Surgical Technologists are utilized in both the Operating Room and our Labor and Delivery Departments.


The Operating Room Department features 17 rooms and typical cases include general, gastric, ortho, open heart, vascular, plastic and cardiac surgeries.


Our Labor and Delivery department offers 13 LDRs, 3 private triage rooms, 3 Operating Rooms and a 5 bed recovery unit. This department averages about 300 deliveries a month.


Surgical Technologists will:



  • Responsible for setting up and handling sterile supplies and instruments for the surgeon

  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs, maintaining an accurate account of sponges, and assures that all team members adhere to the principles of sterile technique.



  • Uses principles of aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field


Most importantly, Surgical Technologist will elicit and understand the patient's and family's interpretation and impact of the illness on their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well being.


This position will be from 11a - 11p.


Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program.

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting

  • CPR certification
