Technical Program Manager
Our client is the world's leading online retail company seeking a Technical Program Manager for a premium contract opportunity. You will be responsible for developing and managing projects that span global transportation projects. You will act as a bridge between geographically dispersed software teams and global business leaders to ensure that new software and operational processes are rolled out on time, meet the client's stringent standards, and employ the most cost effective solution possible. In addition you will work with Systems, Database, Operations and Network engineers to development and implement operational enhancements that complement and improve customers' experience.What we are looking for: * Experience defining projects and features, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating global large cross functional projects and schedules, as well as analyzing cost / benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization
* Experience with global software and business teams
* Day-to-day interaction and matrix management of global teams
* Prior software development experience with object oriented programming languages like C++ and Java a must
* Demonstrated bias for action and an ability to deal with great ambiguity; one of the key criteria for success for this position is the ability to effectively drive change in loosely defined situations
* Demonstrated ability to be a big picture thinker, strategist, and long term planner
* Superior communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with business as well as technical teams to meet operational performance goals
* Adept and comfortable interacting and presenting to sr. leadership team members
* Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail, and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
* Strong analytical and data gathering skills, including the ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights
* Strong consideration will be given to experience in external relationship management, preferably in Operations or Customer Service Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
* 2+ years of experience in technical program management
* Experience managing globally dispersed teams, building process, project management and release schedules
* Previous experience as a software developer and well versed in SOA
* Experience with relational databases and networks Preferred Qualifications * Master's Degree in a related technical field
* Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
* Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
* Strong business judgment
* Supply Chain / Logistics experience
