Associate Application Engineer / Application Engineer (30132860)

Your Responsibilities



  • Adaptation of Bosch common rail fuel injection system to engine including coordination of packaging studies on engine and initial test support

  • Evaluate customer requirements and coordinate with Bosch systems and component design groups.

  • Support customer on all fuel system related tasks/questions.

  • Provide on-site support during fuel system integration on engine and engine testing.

  • Initiate/participate in design review meetings, interface FMEA, and project review meetings.

  • Lead failure investigations of Common Rail Systems (CRS) components and trouble shooting of engines and vehicles.

  • Participate in vehicle test trips, (hot trip, cold trips, and altitude tests) in North America.

  • Perform data collection and analysis using INCA and other calibration tools.

  • Perform system assessment tests and track validation mileage.




Your competencies and qualifications


  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other general engineering focus.

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive industry OR 1+ years of experience of automotive with a Co-op in related field.

  • Strength in mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Willing and able to travel up to 8 weeks per year to support vehicle test trips.

  • Proactive approach to work and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Solid communication skills.

  • Adaptability to work in a truly international company.


Preferred:


  • Diesel engine experience and familiarity with common rail fuel injection system.

  • Knowledge of thermodynamic/combustion principles.

  • Powertrain calibration is an added qualification.

  • Experience with Formula SAE, SolarCar, FutureCar, EcoCAR or other vehicle related hobbies is a plus.
