Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a product manager with exceptional intellect, creativity, and communication skill to play a leadership role in modernizing the music industry. Enable inventive new distribution and revenue models that empower hard working artists to make a living at their craft, thereby enabling them to spend more time creating and performing music rather than working as a Barista, or whatever. Work with passionate collaborators in our soulful SOMA loft space with pumping tunes and home cooked breakfasts and lunches.

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for understanding the needs of artists, fans, and partners and conceiving and defining new products and features that align with our company’s mission and vision.

- Product Design (Top-Down) - Conceptualize and define new products and features. Collaboratively and laterally lead design, development, and go-to-market activities, taking ultimate responsibility for the popularity, utility, and commercial success of your product.

- Product Design (Bottom-Up) - Instrument, analyze, and otherwise take an empirical approach to driving user adoption and continually improving user experience.

- Cross-Functional Project Management - Formulate roadmaps, plans, and programs and systematically execute against them. Run effective meetings with clear agendas that arrive in a timely way at crisp, documented decisions.

- Strategic Thought Leadership - Contribute materially to the formulation of corporate vision, strategy, and roadmap. Craft ingenious solutions to clever product, business, and partnership problems.

- User Focus - Understand and internalize the aspirations and needs of artists, fans, and partners. Develop strong intuition and empathy for users and serve as their champion.

- Design Talent - Generative and evaluative design ability, in collaboration with others, at all levels of abstraction: software, user experience, product features/benefits, business ecosystem, etc. Ability to effectively convey vision, communicate design concepts, thoughtfully critique other designs. Excellent, modern aesthetic sensibility. Good taste.

- Technical Ability - Undergraduate degree in computer science, work experience as a software developer, or demonstrated technical understanding of basic software development principles and web and mobile technologies.

- Cognitive and Communications Skill - Highly articulate in spoken and written English, built upon an underlying fundamental clarity of thought. General cognitive ability to root out fundamental issues, wring order from chaos, synthesize elegant conceptual frameworks, and drive to clear decisions.

- Personal Maturity - Focus of building something of significance (e.g., vs. acquiring fancy titles and hierarchical reports). Willingness to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes. Ego in check.

- Education - BA/BS in computer science, product design, or similar related field, with top academic performance from a competitive institution...or alternate life-less-ordinary overachievement in pursuit of a degree from the School of Hard Knocks.
