The Diocese of Stockton has an exciting opportunity for the position of Director of Stewardship and Development in the central valley of California. The Director is responsible for the direction of a comprehensive development program (major and corporate donors; estate planning, etc.) to secure the financial resources required to support the ministries and programs of the diocese and to serve as a resource for parish development programs.

Candidate must be committed to the church's mission and to the principals of Gospel stewardship, possess a high level of initiative, judgment and discretion. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make presentations and produce written proposals and reports.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge of the Catholic Church, or a willingness to understand her organization and operation, and will have demonstrated success in: staff development and leadership; volunteer recruitment and development; individual giving and stewardship; and corporate development. Candidate should have a bachelor's degree; certification in fundraising, fundraising management or related business discipline would be an asset. The ability to build positive and enduring relationships with donors, pastors, principals, parish and diocesan leaders will help build success.
