Maintenance Team Leader

MAINTENANCE TEAM LEADER The selected person will guide the daily maintenance activities in a manner that maximizes total departmental performance; manages the key aspects of safety, quality, process efficiency and cost control that occur on maintenance shifts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead maintenance operations and maintenance operators. This includes but is not limited to: • Monitor and analyze all stages of maintenance process to prevent or correct errors by engaging and coaching maintenance personnel. • Ensure that all safety and work practices are followed, and that risk and waste are minimized. • Assign daily tasks and shift activities to the maintenance staff in a manner that maximizes safety, quality and productivity. • Provide daily maintenance updates and review of shift performance. • Ensure DOT Closure requirements are met. • Assist, support and participate in any of the maintenance activities when necessary. Participate and contribute in Health & Safety, Security and Environmental activities (SAFE meetings, BBS observer, HS&E training, Near Miss & AIRI reporting, Housekeeping, 5S, Recycling, Waste Management, etc.) Perform administrative functions such as closing of Work Orders, purchase requisitions, employee time cards, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent plus at least two (2) years working in a maintenance capacity in a paint factory or environment with heavy production of chemicals and paint. Preference will be given to individuals with leadership, planning and troubleshooting skills . Preference will be given to individuals who are willing to work 1st or 2nd shift. Ability to effectively organize and present information and respond appropriately to questions from employees, managers, customers and representatives of the organization. Possess strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Ability to perform various mathematical functions to include calculations involving proportion, percentage, area, and volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to recognize indicated temperature and pressure to maintain safe operations and protect personnel, equipment and products from harm. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to lift 50 pounds frequently without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance as required. Must have good hearing and vision, including peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to correctly perceive color. Must be able to sit, stand, bend/stoop, lift, walk, kneel, crouch and climb for extended periods of time as required. Must be able to qualify on material handling and maintenance equipment. Must be able to pass pulmonary function test, remain clean shaven for respirator fit, and be able to work in a respirator as required. Must be able to travel occasionally via all normal modes of conveyance. Must be able to tolerate the potential of exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, heat and noise (ranges 75db to 85db). Must be able to work at ease from elevated platforms and access stairways. What will AkzoNobel offer you?
